In equensWorldline we distinguish between three different roles to manage our Citrix environments:
Citrix Infrastructure Expert
The virtual servers that make up the Citrix environment such as NetScaler’s, Delivery Controllers, Storefront Servers and their dependencies on the physical services servers, network and storage that underpin them are referred to as Citrix Infrastructure. The Citrix infrastructure expert understands how the Citrix infrastructure has been set up and on which components of the generic infrastructure it depends. He is able to pinpoint where a problem lies for a wide scale of issues.
Citrix Deployment expert
Images are the basis of the XenApp servers and XenDesk desktops. The Citrix Deployment Expert understands the image creation and deployment process. He understands the characteristics of each of the images (XenApp, XenDesktop) and will be most active in this role around the time of the monthly patching cycle.
Citrix Application Expert
The applications published to users are maintained by the Citrix Application Expert. He understands how to publish applications within Citrix Studio together with application dependencies (e.g. firewall rules, location of application configuration files etc.).
He is able to perform intakes for new applications and package applications. We expect both the ability to package and deploy applications and the ability to support end-users in troubleshooting and fixing their issues with applications on the Citrix environment.
What will be your job?
As a Citrix Application Expert you are responsible for the intake of new applications, packaging of applications and publishing of applications on our various Citrix environments. You will be responsible for the day to day management of these applications and the Service Support. You will ensure customer satisfaction and interact with all involved technical experts.
The tasks include activities such as, ensuring meeting the agreed service levels with regard to availability, performance, capacity, continuity and security. The preparation of changes and the controlled implementation of the changes. Resolving incidents and delivering services.
